This diacetate ester, also known as 1,2-propanediol diacetate, presents as a colorless to almost colorless liquid. It is known to be very soluble in water and soluble in ether and ethanol. Store in a cool, dark and well-ventilated place. 1,2-Diacetoxypropane is incompatible with oxidizing agents and should not be stored or handled in their vicinity. This combustible liquid causes serious eye irritation.
