Property
- Properties: Colorless transparent liquid with faint etheric odor. Low toxicity, low viscosity, low surface tension, moderate evaporation rate, good solvency, coupling ability.
- Solubility properties: Miscible with water. Can dissolve grease, rubber, natural resin ethyl cellulose, nitrocellulose, polyvinyl acetate, polyvinyl butyral, alkyd resins, phenolic resins, urea resins and so on.
Applications
- Used as a solvent for nitrocellulose, ethyl cellulose, polyvinyl acetate, etc., solvent for paints, dyes, but also brake fluid components.
- Used as printing ink, magnetic paint solvent, also used as cutting oil, working oil washing solvent.
- Used as a coupling agent for water-based dilution coatings (often mixed).
- Active solvent for water-based paints.
- Solvents and coupling agents for household and industrial cleaners, grease and paint removers, metal cleaners, hard surface cleaners.
- Basic solvents and coupling agents for solvent-based screen printing inks.
- Coupling agents, solvents for reducing dye fabrics.
- Coupling agents and skin conditioners for cosmetic formulations.
- Stabilizers for agricultural pesticides.
- Coagulants for floor polishes.
