Diethylene glycol tert-butyl ether (DETB) is an environmentally friendly solvent with low irritation, very low odor, low toxicity, and low photochemical reactivity. It is mild to skin irritation, miscible with most organic solvents, and can dissolve amino/nitro/alkyd/acrylic resins. Good compatibility with water, miscible with water at room temperature (25°C). It is also a good surfactant, widely used in coatings, inks, cleaning agents, fiber wetting agents, plasticizers, organic synthesis intermediates, paint strippers, surfactants and other fields.

Applications
- Mainly used as a solvent for paints, printing inks, stamp ink, oils, resins, etc. It can also be used as a metal detergent, paint stripper, lubricant stripper, automobile engine detergent, dry-cleaning solvent, epoxy resin solvent. It is used as a stabilizing agent for latex paints, and as a surface improvement agent for high-temperature baking enamel paints, etc. It is suitable for use in thousands of cleaning agents, especially in systems requiring very low volatility.
